Nitobe Symposium
The Nitobe Symposium carries the name of Nitobe Inazo (1862-1933), Under Secretary General of the League of Nations, which strived for language equality and fair treatment of all languages within the league. The first Nitobe Symposium took place in Prague in 1996. Subsequence symposiums occured in Berlin (1999), Beijingg (2004) and Vilnius (2005).
