Team

Behind the Nitobe Centre are many people who have influenced and helped with the project in various ways. As it would be difficult if not impossible to list all of them, we present only the core team here.

Probal DASGUPTA (IN)

Professor of applied linguistics at the University of Hajderabad in India. A writer and editor for the Nitobe Centre and member of the Academy of Esperanto since 1983 as well as one of its vice-presidents since 2001. Co-editor of "Language Problems and Language Planning" since 1990.

Mark FETTES (CA)

Initiator and strategic director of the project. Works as a researcher and consultant on aboriginal education at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. Director of the Esperantic Studies Foundation.

Jevgenij GAUS (LT)

Although professionally an attorney, currently works full time as a programmer for various Esperanto-related projects including this one.

Hokan LUNDBERG (SE)

Project coordinator and planner. Besides conceptualising for the Centre and communicating with all team members, also programs and writes as needed. Member of the Board of E@I.

Sonja PETROVIC LUNDBERG (SE)

Graduate of organisational sciences at the University of Belgrade and coordinator of lernu!. Works with the Nitobe Centre mainly in administration, testing, documentation and event planning.

Christer LÖRNEMARK (SE)

Writer and editor for the Nitobe Centre. Worked for several years at Göteborg University in research projects on corpus linguistics and as a teacher of phonetics. Studied musicology a long time ago, writes music in his spare time. Currently a part-time student of literature.
